Build an approved profile. Bid when eligible work is available.
Apply to RoadService.app's mechanic network, keep your documents current, and share a fresh on-duty location. Matching demand, request alerts, assignments, and revenue are not guaranteed.
Why mechanics choose RoadService.app
See eligible requests when available
Approved shops may receive matching breakdown requests when customer demand exists. Lead volume, response opportunities, and assignments are not guaranteed.
Set your own rates
Your shop submits its own bid and ETA for each eligible request and chooses which work to pursue. Dispatch and customer approval are still required before travel.
Truck AND trailer work
Available requests can include tractor, tire, tow, fuel, lockout, reefer, trailer ABS, and landing-gear work — not just engine repairs.
One account for your shop
Shop owners can add technician seats under one account. Services and coverage radius are managed for the shop; individual technician profiles and radii are not currently offered.
Live eligibility matters
Keep required documents current, remain approved, go on duty, and share a fresh location. Matching also checks service capability and shop-level coverage.
Clear payment instructions
For on-site jobs, you collect the customer-approved total and RoadService.app invoices your shop weekly for the exact difference between that total and your accepted bid. If a job explicitly uses RoadService-managed payment or escrow, do not collect a second payment at the truck.
Directory placement is separate
Directory listings and sponsored placement affect directory visibility only. Buying directory placement does not move a shop ahead in dispatch matching.
How to get started
Apply online
Fill out the mechanic application — business name, service area, capabilities, and upload your COI and W-9.
Get verified
Dispatch reviews your current insurance, W-9, business details, and selected services before activating the shop.
Go on duty and watch for eligible requests
Share a fresh location while on duty. When a matching request is available, submit a bid and ETA, then wait for dispatch and customer approval before travel.
Frequently asked questions
What does it cost to join?
Joining and bidding are free. For a completed job, RoadService.app's fee is the exact difference between the customer-approved total and your accepted bid. In the on-site flow we invoice that amount weekly; in a RoadService-managed payment flow it is retained before your payout. Optional directory advertising is separate and is not required to receive dispatch jobs.
What certifications do I need?
Before approval, your shop must provide current commercial general liability and commercial auto insurance, a completed W-9, business details, and the services your shop can perform. Dispatch reviews those records before the shop can receive jobs.
What areas do you cover?
RoadService.app accepts requests nationwide, but dispatch demand and provider coverage vary by market. Eligible matching checks the shop's services, coverage area, current approval and documents, on-duty status, and fresh shared location.
Can my shop send multiple techs?
A shop owner can add technician seats under the shop account. The shop's services, credentials, and coverage radius apply to those seats; separate technician capability profiles and radii are not currently supported.
Does approval guarantee leads or revenue?
No. Approval makes a shop eligible for matching; it does not guarantee request volume, leads, assignment, response timing, or revenue. Those depend on customer demand, location, service needs, and other live eligibility conditions.
